Interest in the race for Milpitas City Council just shot up a few notches after a council member received a death threat.
Council candidate Rajeev Madnawat, an intellectual property attorney affiliated with the prominent San Jose firm of Hoge Fenton, sent this email to soon-to-be termed out council member Armando Gomez. In the email, Madnawat berates Gomez for supporting candidates Marsha Grilli and Deepka Lalwani, saying:
” I can assure you once I go after someone I don’t leave them until they are lifeless or in prison.”
What could possibly have set off that kind of venom? Outside his law practice, Madnawat is a Milpitas Planning Commissioner (more about him here) He is running against Grilli and Lalwani for one of two open seats on the council. But just to prove there are no hard feelings, he signs the threatening letter: “Best Regards.”
