Fundraising efforts are in full swing for the candidates seeking to replace termed out Supervisor Ken Yeager. As the numbers reveal, they have been serious about building a solid financial footing early on which, with five candidates vying to make it past the primary election, will definitely matter.
Here is a breakdown of their fundraising in the first 6 months of 2017 as reported by the most recent Campaign Disclosure Statements:
- Dominic Caserta, Vice Mayor of Santa Clara, after taking a large lead at the end of 2016, raised an additional $57,000 in the period and now has $289,000 cash on hand;
- Don Rocha, current San Jose City Council Member, raised $140,000 in the period and has $138,000 cash on hand;
- Jason Baker, former Campbell Mayor, has raised $38,000 in 2017 and has $50,000 cash on hand;
- Susan Ellenberg, San Jose Unified School District Trustee, raised $100,000 and has $95,000 cash on hand; and
- Pierluigi Oliverio, former San Jose City Council Member, raised $255,000 and has $250,000 cash on hand.
The next reporting deadline is at the end of January.
