Eastside Union High School District Race Is Set

Three of the five Eastside Union High School Board Trustees are up for reelection, and with no term limits in place, it is presumed that Board President J.Manuel Herrera, and Trustees Frank Biehl and Van Le will run to keep their seats. Most recently, Le ran and lost her bid for San Jose City Council District 7.  The two early challengers who threw their hats into the ring were Kristin Rivers, a teacher, organizer with the Women’s March and active member in the Judge Persky recall effort, and Lorena Chavez, a charter school supporter who was an educator and principal at two local charter schools and serves as the Director of Talent and Alumni Learning at Teach for America.

Three additional candidates have joined the race Derek Grasty, Patricia Martinez-Roach, and Robert Imhoff, a registered Libertarian who is running for a different seat after losing his bid for the Runoff Election for State Assembly earlier this year.
