Early Fundraising Efforts for Senate District 13 are Taking Shape

Early fundraising efforts for Senate District 13 are underway and the most recent reports showed some candidates starting 2019 in a strong financial position, while others struggled to keep up.  With four candidates in the race, any financial advantage will matter.

Here is the breakdown of their fundraising efforts as reported by the last California Form 460, which covers up until the end of 2018:

  • Josh Becker, social entrepreneur, raised nearly $352,000 and has $335,000 cash on hand;
  • Michael Brownrigg, current City of Burlingame Council Member, raised just shy of $146,000 and has nearly $188,000 cash on hand;
  • Shelly Masur, current Redwood City Council Member, raised almost $37,000 and has nearly $49,000 cash on hand; and
  • Sally Lieber, former Assembly Member, raised $1,320 during this period and has $1,092 cash on hand.

The next reporting deadline is in July.
