Another blow to Mayor Chuck Reed and City Councilman-Mayor-Wanna-Be Sam Liccardo, with the ruling that the city must pay for the plaintiffs’ attorneys fees in the Measure B lawsuit. City worker unions successfully fought the illegal pension reform measure, spending money and time just to prove what Mayor Reed and his allies knew all along : that their idea to for “fixing” increasing pension costs was illegal, wrong and did we mention illegal?
The city has spent millions of dollars in their own attorney’s fees fighting lawsuits that proved Measure B was an illegal approach to bringing down pension costs. Now they’re going to spend millions more to pay for the needless fees city workers had to spend to fight the illegal measure. All money wasted that could have been spent bringing back the quality of life in San Jose that residents enjoyed when Dave Cortese was on the city council.
