Rosenberg Heads for Cloudier Skies

He couldn’t bear to watch Levi’s stadium host it’s first Superbowl now that the 49’rs don’t have a chance. So he’s moving to Seattle to root for the Seahawks as a 12th man.  (Even though he’s really a Pat’s fan, being from Boston and all.)

The Mercury News should be announcing the replacement of its San Jose City Hall reporter soon, now that Mike Rosenberg is taking off for Seattle.  Rosenberg announced in an email to his fans that he’s leaving to take advantage of his youth and try to buy a house, which on a journalist’s salary he says he could never afford in the Bay Area.

But coming from the San Francisco Bay area, he’ll need a thick skin…and a raincoat.

Rosenberg wrote a longer missive on his reasons for leaving the Bay Area on his blog.  Rosenberg spent four years at the Mercury News, most of that time covering City Hall.  We’re sure local progressives can’t wait to see who pops up in that role next.
