Will Los Altos Be Next to Raise the Wage?

Forum on topic of minimum wage scheduled Monday

A community forum on raising the minimum wage is scheduled 7-9:30 p.m. Monday (May 4) in the Creekside Room of Los Altos United Methodist Church, 655 Magdalena Ave., Los Altos. The event is free and open to the public.

The issue will be addressed by a panel of speakers, including: Scott Myers-Lipton, Professor of Sociology, San Jose State University, and co-founder of San Jose’s Minimum Wage Campaign; Margaret Abe-Koga, former Mountain City Council member; Tom Myers, executive director, Community Services Agency; and Rev. Debbie Weatherspoon,
pastor at United Methodist.

The event is presented by Raise the Wage Coalition of the Peninsula and South Bay, and Bold Service & Social Justice Committee of Los Altos UMC.
