Labor Council Campaign Rattles Vulnerable Republican Congressman

The South Bay Labor Council’s “Call For A Change” Campaign is rattling vulnerable Republican Congressman Jeff Denham. On his Facebook page, Denham posted the Labor Council’s announcement of the “Call For A Change” phone bank targeting his district, which has been a swing district for the last three election cycles.  In the same post, Denham asked his supporters help him fight back against progressives, and help him keep his seat in Congress.

“Call For A Change,” which is part of the South Bay Labor Council’s campaign to promote the priorities of working families, is a monthly phone banking program targeting priority swing districts of elected officials who don’t represent their working family constituents.

Denham promised his constituents that he would not vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and proceeded to blindside them with a vote for repeal.  He has voted with Trump 100% of the time.  Given the unpopularity of these positions, Denham is wise to be nervous that his constituents and progressives throughout California are calling him out for being dishonest and not representing their interests in Washington.
