Early Campaign Fundraising: San Jose City Council District 7

San Jose City Council candidates were allowed to start fundraising in December, and today they reported how much they raised in that month. Leading the way for all City Council candidates in San Jose is Tam Nguyen with $80,000 raised from contributions and another $5,000 he loaned to himself for a total of $85,000. Coming in second is Maya Esparza with $16,000 and a self-contribution of another $5,000. However, today she announced that her fundraising total in now up to $35,000. Van Le and Chris Le are the only other candidates who have filed their December campaign disclosures at the time of publication. Van Le raised $2,000 in contributions and loaned herself $4,000. Chris Le raised no money and loaned himself $1,000. Jonathan Fleming filed a campaign form that indicates he raised less than $2000. Other candidates in the race are Thomas Duong and Omar Vasquez, both of whom have until tonight at midnight to file their reports. We will update this post as reports are filed.

Update: Thomas Duong and Omar Vasquez have filed their reports, Duong has raised $12,000 while Vasquez brought in $4,000 in contributions and another $1,500 in loans.
