Community groups demand transparency in Google negotiations after non-disclosure agreements exposed

Community groups have called for answers from the City of San Jose after it was revealed that the Mayor, various councilmembers and other City officials had signed non-disclosure agreements with Google over the sale of a number of valuable parcels of publicly owned land (source).

Community members have long voiced concerns about the lack of transparency throughout the negotiation process and now fear that the signed non-disclosure agreements only served to shield vital information from the public about a giant land deal that could fundamentally change the city.

Silicon Valley Rising has sent a letter to San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo and the City Council expressing their concerns over the revelations about the non-disclosure agreement. The letter demands copies of all the NDAs requested by Google that pertain to the San Jose Diridon land deal. You can read a copy of the letter here.
